Welcome to Infor!
- Summary:
- We welcome Infor to the growing diginomica family as the enterprise applications giant is announced as our latest premier partner
The first vendor conference diginomica attended as a team was Infor's annual user event in April last year, just a few weeks before our site launched
and we got the ball rolling. Jon, Den and Phil tipped up at InForum in Orlando and put together some of the first pieces of coverage that would appear on diginomica when it went live.Fast forward just over a year, and we are now delighted to announce that Infor has become diginomica's latest premier partner.
Having followed Infor closely for the past few years, it's an announcement I am very excited about. This is a company that has gone through some major changes and is now in a position to start shouting about what it has to offer.
Since Charles Phillips joined the company, sparking a three to four year investment plan, Infor has seen new management brought in, 1500 engineers hired, product lines redeveloped and redesigned (with the help of Hook & Loop, the company's acquired design agency), and thousands of new customers signed.
Not only this, but Infor has stuck to its guns by focusing on vertical markets – something that the rest of the industry is now attempting to replicate.
Last time I saw Phillips was just a few months ago in Barcelona, where he said something that resonated with me and got me thinking about the strong similarities between his strategy with Infor and what we are trying to do here at diginomica. He said:
We still like to call ourselves the world’s largest start-up. The reason that name stuck with us is that we came here about three and a half years ago, with a new management team, and we have pretty much changed everything and started over.
We have all been doing this a long time and we all know what the problems are with enterprise software. We know what we didn’t like about it, but we didn’t have the resources and time to fix it, this time we are doing it right.
The brand value is going dramatically up, we are getting a lot of incoming calls that we didn’t get three years ago. The reason that is happening is that we are doing something different and the market wants an alternative.
Anyone that is looking to disrupt and do something different, while attempting to provide the market with what it is asking for is welcome here.
Welcome on board to all of the Infor team!
